We make these pan handles from our alpaca fiber. Alpaca is hollow-fibered making it the perfect insulator and protector of your hands when picking up a hot cast iron pan. Alpaca is also fire resistant. It can burn if left over an open flame but does not catch on fire immediately. The pan handle is best used after the flames are off and when picking up the hot pan. Fits large and small cast iron pans equally.
